This device is used to highlight the two different relationship one has in contact with a machine:
-The black box: Is a term used in system studies that considers the relationship between the human and the machine by only focusing on the input and the output. The "black box" is the main interaction we have with devices nowadays; it is a closed box, it is a hiding box, it is a black box.
-The white box: A device that is opened, nude and offers itself to the eye of the engineer or the handyman.
Both of these concepts are present in this device that tries to propose another interaction to a defined tool, transforming it into a device that shows itself, stages itself. The shelf space, liberated from its wooden board becomes then a permanent theater set.
